At least one of those three claims rests on a secondary source or an inference, a disagreement between sources is still open, or a split supply has a format that has not been read.

Ownership, the 2020 European rights deal and the 2016 UK distribution switch are all verified. UK brewing is verified for Brooklyn Pilsner, a different beer, and NOT for Brooklyn Lager: the one Brooklyn Lager retail listing with an origin field, the Tesco 355ml bottle, shows a United States country of origin, and the current Asda, Waitrose and Tesco listings for the 4 x 330ml and 6 x 330ml packs (2026-09-06) state no country of origin or producer. The record therefore does not claim that any Brooklyn Lager sold in UK supermarkets is brewed here. Draught Brooklyn Lager in the UK on-trade has not been checked. Needs a UK Brooklyn Lager can label.

2026-09-09: a Londis listing (AppyShop) of the 330ml can prints 'Brewed for The Brooklyn Brewery by Carlsberg Supply Company Sverige AB, Falkenberg, Sweden' and 'Filled by Carlsberg UK, Northampton', with no country of origin field. Together with the Tesco bottle's United States origin, the supply is recorded as imported, from a country that depends on the pack, so no single brewing country is stated. Morrisons and Trolley list only Brooklyn Pilsner; not at Bestway. Still partly verified: the can's origin is a convenience listing without an origin field.

2026-09-21: CAMRA's report 'Beer in the UK' (July 2026, edited by Tim Webb) lists Brooklyn among lagers produced in the UK, without a source. The only can read here was brewed at Falkenberg, Sweden and filled by Carlsberg UK in Northampton, so it is packaged in the UK but not brewed here. Nothing is changed.

The small print on the base of a current can or bottle, giving the producer name and address, would settle this.

In short

Brooklyn Brewery Brooklyn Lager is imported; the country the UK product is brewed in is not established. The brand's home brewery is Brooklyn, New York. It is also the same strength as at home, 5.2%. Ownership of the brand is split by territory: Brooklyn Brewery (US rights); Carlsberg Group holds the Brooklyn brand rights for Europe and parts of Asia.

This page is about the packs sold in supermarkets. Draught in pubs can come from a different brewery, and this page does not cover it unless a format table says so.
